Oracle Apps? VMware? Interesting? Throw It Out The Window.

When I announced I was giving up my Architect post in Oracle Server Technologies  I specifically called out some of the technology I was interested in pursuing. One of those areas is Oracle software on VMware. For those of you who share that penchant you might take interest in Technology Defenestration.  Interesting name for an Apps DBA blog! I’ve read quite a bit of J’s writings and have learned some interesting things.

I like blogs written by people “in the trenches.”

Perhaps you will too.

Wow, truly thanks for the mention. I’ve been a long time reader of your blog and (among many things) your mention about collectl ( https://kevinclosson.wordpress.com/2007/12/18/its-your-choice-collectl-or-some-odd-collection-of-sundry-commands/ ) has been quite useful in helping me to become a better DBA / SysAdmin.

Thanks again for the mention and I’ll be blogging again soon.

    Hi,
Are you only interested in Oracle on VMware, or virtualizing Oracle in general?

      Peter,

In short, interested in virtualization in general but focused on VMware in specific. I’m not in the VMware versus OVM race. I’m just trying to broaden my horizons technically. I will say that I can’t picture non-Oracle shops virtualizing non-Oracle software in OVM so in my mind I see VMware and the other players (MSFT, Citrix) as possible agnostic platforms, but I don’t know if any of that matters.
